As you are shopping for entertainment you may have noticed that Disc
Jockey and entertainment rates differ based on talent, experience,
musical and emcee ability, service, coordination, equipment, music
knowledge, programming ability and personality.
Rates for the DJ industry vary greatly, ranging from $350.00 to
$3,500.00 with an average of $1,500.00 for a 4 hour booking. The best
price is not always the best deal, particularly if you are planning a
special event.
As a matter of fact, concerning weddings, surveys conclude that nearly
100% of brides, in hindsight, would have made entertainment the number
one priority. The entertainment is often the centerpiece of the event,
setting the tone and pace, making people feel comfortable, creating an
enjoyable party. During wedding receptions, the maître d' and the
entertainment are also responsible for making sure everything in the
event runs smoothly, so you can relax and enjoy your wedding.
A full-service disc jockey company will normally invest 12 to 30 hours
to your special event but it may appear that you are paying for "only 4
hours". Consultations, music purchasing & editing, preparation,
practicing, transportation, set-up & tear-down, and other business
add up to the overall success of your special occasion. In addition, as
performing musician, I practice whatever pieces I will be playing for
that day. Practice sessions can be from 30 minutes a day to 2-3 hours a
day for several days. That alone increases the time I invest to total
of at least 30 hours, often more.
With over 15 years of entertainment experience, I can understand this
is an un-nerving decision. There are so many DJ companies around; it is
not an easy decision to pick one out of the bunch.
Becoming a Disc Jockey after years of being a professional musician
allows me to offer something more than the run of the mill disc jockey
companies; I offer a combination of live music and disc jockey/emcee
service. I have been playing piano for over 30 years and have an
extensive repertoire in all genres. Being a singer as well as a pianist
enables me to provide an even larger variety of musical style and
performance. My experience and ability fit nicely in between spending
$10,000 for a band or "just getting a DJ."

A vocal/piano set for cocktail hour. I perform selections from pop and
jazz standard repertoires. A jazz trio or duo, or female vocalist. This
can be added to any part of the event.
consists of two 45 minute vocal/piano sets for dinner customers and DJ for after dinner customers.
